LU Alert: Campus Alert- Scam 

LUPD has been made aware of multiple incidents where family members of students have been contacted by an individual claiming to be an officer with LUPD. These calls claim that their family member has been arrested and they need to pay money for bond. LUPD will not call asking for money. This is a common ploy for scammers to extort money – don’t send money or give out personal information.  If you believe you are being scammed, please call LUPD at 434-592-7641 to report the incident to LUPD and also contact your local law enforcement agency.
