Motor Vehicle Theft – (*Note – this includes anything with a motor (i.e. motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, etc.)
This alert is being sent in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act, as this incident represents a Clery Act crime that occurred on Clery Act geography and poses a serious or continuing threat to the campus community.
On 11/01/2023 at 1308 hours, an LU Student noticed their electric scooter was missing from the open middle way from one of the 140’s. The student stated their scooter was locked, and it is unknown how it was removed. No active leads or suspects at this time
On 11/01/2023 at 1723 hours, an LU Student noticed their electric minibike scooter was missing from a bike rack from one of the 140s. The student stated their minibike scooter was locked to the bike rack, and how it was removed is unknown. No active leads or suspects at this time.
If you are in immediate danger, call Liberty University Police Department at 434-592-3911 or call 9-1-1. Criminal incidents can be reported to Liberty University Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) who are designated, trained, and mandatory reporters under the Clery Act when victims chose not to report to law enforcement.
Be sure to lock up your vehicles, residential hall rooms, and offices when you leave. Remove any valuables from sight or take them with you when you leave. Never leave keys or means to access your vehicle within the vehicle.
