Liberty University School of Law reported that the Class of 2025 Juris Doctor graduates achieved a 96% employment rate 10 months after graduation — the highest employment outcome for any Liberty Law Juris Doctor graduating class since the ABA began requiring public disclosure of employment data with the Class of 2010. The Class of 2025 joins Liberty Law graduates who are serving across the country alongside members of the bench and bar and making an impact on local, regional, and national levels.
The employment rate increased by over 10 percentage points from 2024 graduates (85.7%) and 5 percentage points from 2023 (91%).
Kristine Smith, executive director of Employer & Student Services at Liberty Law, said the Liberty Law Center for Career & Professional Development takes an individualized and student-centric approach to career and professional development, which has successfully assisted many students in launching their legal careers.
“We meet with students multiple times to discuss their plans, preferred practice areas and geographic locations, and potential employers within those criteria,” she said. “This personalized approach allows us to support each student throughout their time at Liberty Law as they develop their professional goals.”
“As a department and as a law school, there is no better reward than to see the students begin their careers and succeed as attorneys, and we are so proud of them all,” she added.
School of Law Dean Timothy Todd said the record employment rate shows that the legal profession values a Liberty Law education.
“At Liberty Law, we’re focused on preparing our graduates with the knowledge, skills, and training to add value and to make an impact,” he said. “Liberty Law graduates are attractive to employers because we integrate practical lawyering skills with substantive doctrinal knowledge. Liberty Law graduates are able to put knowledge into action and impact due to our skills-based and practical training.”
“Employers also value the worldview and spirit of our graduates,” Todd added. “Because of our Christian worldview, our graduates have a keen sense of justice, the rule of law, and commitment to excellence while serving with gentleness, humility, and grit.”
Liberty Law was recently recognized in National Jurist’s Best Law Schools for Practical Training. Liberty Law’s Center for Lawyering Skills and its practical skills training offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for employment, helping them gain the skills necessary to handle a lawsuit from the initial client interview all the way through to a trial. Students also hone their analytical ability, problem-solving skills, planning, and alternative dispute resolution techniques. Complementing its skills-based and experiential learning curriculum, Liberty Law also offers numerous clinics that span diverse practice areas and opportunities.
