Alumnus creates digital space to welcome the weary, build community

After adopting a child and facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Liberty University alumnus and Adjunct Professor Jared Dyson (’15,’16) was inspired to develop Another Well Ministries, a digital platform to help discouraged believers find Bible-centered encouragement and community.
Dyson, who lives in Florida, said his passion for helping others through spiritual struggles grew out of his own challenging season in life.
After a period marked by struggles to start a family, Dyson and his wife adopted their son, Nate, who is deaf, from China in 2020. Between caring for a child with a disability and navigating the pandemic, the family faced many obstacles.
“In those challenging circumstances, we may find ourselves becoming famished or fatigued, but God has the sustainment that we need to overcome,” he said. “Far too many people look for this in things the world has to offer because it is easy and satisfies temporarily.”
In 2021, Dyson was listening to his pastor’s sermon on Genesis 26, where Isaac digs the wells of Abraham again; the wells were seen as a place of renewal and provision. Dyson said he felt a stirring in his spirit.
“Wells were part of everyday life in Isaac’s day,” Dyson said. “These were moments of everyday life when refreshment was needed, strength was needed, etc. I related that to the circumstances of my life, and I knew God placed it in my heart that I needed to do my part in digging another well, spiritually speaking. Not by creating a new Bible but by creating wells for people to be able to find comfort, relief, and ways to cope with the trials in life.”
Dyson was working in healthcare during the pandemic and experienced firsthand the mental toll it had on people. He knew they needed more community.
“God designed us to interact with others,” he said. “We were designed to have Bible studies and share our burdens together. When people try to walk through life alone, that’s often where the struggle begins. They think they’re alone, and they’re not. That’s one of the reasons why we encourage people to share and to tell us they need prayer.”

He launched Another Well Ministries in 2021. The website includes resources to help point people back to Scripture during difficult times and remind them of one main truth: purpose flows from God alone. Subscribers can access devotionals, Bible studies, reflection journals, and more. They are invited to contact Dyson and his team, share prayer requests, and communicate openly — all online, so pandemics or other circumstances can never stop Christians from finding community.
“As I see it, there are many (trials) that come into our lives that are not necessarily because we have done things wrong, but rather God places them as an ordinary part of our life. They become part of who we are,” Dyson said. “The wells that God provides are truly refreshing, rejuvenating, and sustaining, and can be found when we seek Him in His Word.”
Dyson says because the ministry exists to connect people, much of the content is shaped by its subscribers’ needs, and many of the devotionals he publishes are often inspired by real conversations.
“People write to us about family challenges or seasons they’re walking through,” he said. “I had someone not long ago reach out and say they’re struggling to find rest. So, we created a seven-day devotional focused on rest. Our goal is to meet people exactly where they are.”
Dyson graduated from Liberty with a B.S. in Accounting and Data Analysis in 2015 then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in 2016. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration through Liberty University Online Programs. He credits Liberty with preparing him to fulfill his calling.
“Liberty provided an excellent education that prepared me to navigate professional challenges,” Dyson said. “But it also helped me understand the importance of maintaining my relationship with God in everything I do. Without that foundation, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Dyson has worked in healthcare for over 20 years, as a paramedic and in hospital leadership roles. He currently serves as assistant vice president for Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando, Fla. He is also an adjunct professor in Liberty’s School of Business, where he teaches Introduction to Business Research Methods and Business Communications. He said his love for Liberty ultimately drew him back to the university to teach.
“What brought me back was the school’s passion, not just for student success but for sharing the Gospel. Now I get to give back and help shape students the same way my professors shaped me. That’s incredibly rewarding.”
