As Liberty Flames Baseball prepares to open the 2025 campaign with a three-game home series against St. John’s University on Friday, fans will be treated to the same exciting game day atmosphere Liberty is known for, with plenty of events for the whole family to join in on the action.
The 2025 home schedule will feature several recurring promotions and some new additions (see promotions schedule below) . Baseball Bingo returns for all Saturday home games, and on Sundays, kids can run the bases after the game.
There will be several chances to receive giveaway items, including a Liberty script beanie (students only, Feb. 21), mental health awareness bracelets (in conjunction with the Mental Health Awareness Game, March 7) baseball trading cards (March 18, April 12, and May 13), Wild West T-shirts (students only, March 21), camouflage hats (in conjunction with Military Appreciation Day, April 4), and pickleball paddles (April 11).
During Liberty’s April 4-6 series against CUSA foe Middle Tennessee State, the Flames will honor military service members and first responders. This weekend will conclude with Faith & Family Night, where fans will be led in a time of Scripture reading and worship at the conclusion of the game.
Liberty alumni and specifically Flames baseball alumni will be recognized at this season’s Alumni Day, scheduled for April 12.
Mario Kart Night on May 7th will fill Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium with music and sounds from the popular video game. Fans may also have the chance to participate in some Mario-themed games.
New this year is the Liberty Pup Club, where fans can attend Liberty games along with their canine companions and sport special Flames gear. For a $50 membership fee, fans will receive a dog toy, bandana, leash, and nine baseball vouchers to attend Bark in the Park home baseball games (every Sunday home game and April 25), as well as the chance to be featured as the Pup Club member of the month.
Kids can still join the Flames Kids Club, where they will receive exclusive FKC gifts, access to exclusive FKC events, admission to several Liberty athletics events (including baseball games), and more. For more information or to sign up for the Flames Kids Club, visit LibertyFlames.com.
Led by first year Head Coach Bradley LeCroy, Liberty Baseball will contend for the program’s first Conference USA title in its second year as a member. The Flames, who were picked to finish fifth in CUSA Preseason Baseball Poll, will look to improve on last year’s 11-13 conference record.
To do so, Liberty’s squad may lean heavily on the arm of sophomore pitcher Ben Blair, named to the 2025 CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Blair recorded a 2-2 record with a 3.51 ERA over 48 2/3 innings in 23 appearances during the 2024 campaign.
Following a 27-game conference schedule that includes matches against two 2024 NCAA Tournament teams (Dallas Baptist and Louisiana Tech), the Flames will host the CUSA Championship May 21-25 at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The facility, opened in 2013, features 2,500 chairbacks and four luxury suites.
Complementing the Flames’ tough conference schedule is an even more challenging selection of nonconference opponents. This season, Liberty will face 2024 College World Series participants NC State and Virginia (twice), 2024 Super Regional participant Clemson, and several other 2024 NCAA Tournament participants — St. John’s (three-game series), Wake Forest (twice), Virginia Tech (twice), Duke (twice), and UNC Wilmington (three-game series).
