Liberty Law earns Best Value Law School ranking, high employment rate

Liberty University School of Law was recently named as a Best Value Law School for 2021 by preLaw magazine and has landed at No. 12 in the nation on the publication’s annual Employment Honor Roll, exceeding its expectations for placing graduates into jobs in the legal profession.

Best Value Law Schools are ranked based on bar pass rates, tuition cost, employment rates, cost of living, and indebtedness upon graduation.

“Although Liberty Law has been recognized as a Best Value Law School for several years, the recognition for 2021 is especially significant given the current economic concerns expressed by incoming and prospective law students from all over the nation,” said Dean Keith Faulkner. Faulkner recently participated in a virtual panel discussion for preLaw Magazine on admissions during a time of change.

“Liberty Law is committed to adding value to our students, graduates, and the legal profession by providing an exceptional legal education. Our graduates are committed to working hard because law is their passion. Helping and serving clients is their purpose. Employers immediately know when interviewing a Liberty Lawyer that they are hiring a committed professional. Through generous scholarships, Liberty Law provides the opportunity for a lifelong career for students without the lifetime burden of law school debt.”

The preLaw rankings show that Liberty Law students graduate with a low average debt, thanks to an aggressive scholarship program, noting that “the school discounted tuition through scholarships more so than any other law school in the nation.”

To help students keep their debt as low as possible, Liberty Law offers scholarships to every admitted student.

“We are proud of our graduates and excited for the recognition by preLaw in both categories,” said Kristine Smith, director of Liberty Law’s Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD). “Bar passage, tuition cost, and employment rates all work together to demonstrate that Liberty Law’s well-rounded programs and curriculum provide students with a high-quality legal education and positive future professional options at an affordable cost.”

CCPD offers resources to assist employers with recruiting Liberty Law students for various experiential and employment opportunities, including on-campus interviews, online job and internship postings, resume collection services, as well as guest speaking and workshop opportunities.

Liberty Law produces “practice-ready” graduates through its innovative practical skills program. Students are taught how to conduct negotiations, depositions, and oral arguments before judges and juries. They also learn to expertly draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and contracts.
