Author Gary Chapman, Olympian Steele Johnson to speak in Convocation

Liberty University Convocation will feature best-selling author Gary Chapman and Olympic athlete Steele Johnson next week.

Monday, Sept. 3:

There will be no Convocation in the Vines Center. Students will have the chance to attend Alternative Convocation held by their academic departments.

Wednesday, Sept. 5:

Gary Chapman is the author of the New York Times best-selling book “The 5 Love Languages" and speaks to couples around the country through his marriage conferences. His nationally syndicated radio program, “A Love Language Minute,” and his Saturday morning program, “Building Relationships with Dr. Gary Chapman,” air on more than 400 stations. He currently serves as senior associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Friday, Sept. 7:

Olympic diver and medalist Steele Johnson made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he won a silver medal in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform dive.
