Liberty to welcome gospel artist, NY pastor, and authors of Trump book to Convocation

Next week, Liberty University students will hear from a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer, a New York-based pastor, and the authors of a new book about U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

Monday, April 16:

Tasha Cobbs serves as a pastor at the dReam Center Church of Atlanta where she leads worship and manages the Worship & Arts Department. In 2012, Cobbs recorded and released her album “Grace.” The record’s lead single, “Break Every Chain,” reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Gospel Song list and the album was on Billboard’s Top 10 Gospel Albums for 2012. Cobbs is also the winner of a Grammy Award, three Stellar Awards, and three Dove Awards.

Wednesday, April 18:

Tyler Staton is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and the lead pastor of Trinity Grace Church Williamsburg in Brooklyn, N.Y. The church has 11 distinct churches across New York City.

Friday, April 20:

David Brody and Scott Lamb are co-authors of “The Faith of Donald J. Trump.” Brody is an Emmy Award-winning, 30-year veteran journalist and currently the chief political correspondent for CBN News. He is also a political analyst for Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. Lamb is a biographer, literary agent, Baptist minister, and columnist for The Washington Times.

Friday’s Convocation will also kick off the second annual Serve Lynchburg, a one-day citywide service initiative on April 21 involving more than 2,000 Liberty students, faculty, and staff members who will join with Lynchburg residents and community partners to meet local needs.

A 10-day Convocation schedule is announced each Monday.
