Medical students raise money for heart disease
April 20, 2016 : By Liberty University News Service
Following months of planning and fundraising, Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) helped raise over $20,000 for the American Heart Association (AHA) through HeartChase 2016, held on Liberty’s campus Saturday, April 16.
Founded by AHA, HeartChase builds healthier communities by educating participants on preventing heart disease and strokes through interactive challenges and scavenger hunts.
In the tradition of “The Amazing Race” and “Minute-To-Win-It,” HeartChase participants compete in teams and locate hidden “tags” along a course, learning about heart health as they play.
More than 200 Liberty students and community members participated in this year’s event.
