Biography
Dr. George Sherman is a highly-experienced education professional with a broad background drawn from military and formal institutions.
During 26 years in the USAF, Dr. Sherman served as a flight instructor and evaluator, graduated the Air Force’s premiere instructor training program, trained troops within combat zones, and led instruction for a $400M systems upgrade. He subsequently acted as a community college workforce and continuing education vice president for three years, before moving to the Virginia Community College Systems Office to help coordinate systems and policies across the state’s 23 colleges. He led Liberty University’s non-credit training arm for several years, taught and managed technical studies classes, and administered other education programs. In his current position Dr. Sherman engages with Eagle Scholars, Washington Fellowship, and the planned Honors Fellows programs. Additionally, he teaches doctoral students enrolled in the online School of Education.
When not at work, Dr. Sherman enjoys family and fitness, serves on numerous boards and committees, and is a volunteer EMT for his rural county.
