Biography
Dr. Robert Mott has been teaching at the college level for over twenty years. He teaches Television News Production, Video Production, and Video Editing.
Experience
- Over 20 years of professional experience in media production and higher education. Instructing and preparing students pursuing television industry through class, field, studio and hands-on instruction of equipment and editing techniques.
- Part of the team that created and developed a new cable television channel. Dr. Mott was responsible for the promotion of new programming, conceptualization, development, and production of all promotional spots.
- Worked and consulted in video production, CRM support, database management, and Six Sigma training.
- Developed broadband solutions for companies converging technologies using multiple texts and languages; trained Fortune 500 companies in use of TQM strategies which included ISO Standards, Blackbelt Training, Sustained Performance Improvement and Design for Six Sigma.
Publications & Creative Awards
- Dr. Mott’s research investigates visualization as a tool to understand communication processes. His dissertation utilized visualization as a means to determine how well a video production student had been trained in their discipline. Most recently, he has started to research the eye-movement patterns of autistic children in relation to their consumption of television programs. The methodology will use eye-tracking software to quantify their zones of attention and visualization while watching a television program.
