Biography

Major Casey R. Henderson is the Operations Officer and Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force ROTC Detachment 890 Operating Location, Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia; where he instructs, mentors, and leads a 178-member cadet wing in preparation for commissioning as officers into the United States Air Force.

Maj Henderson received his commission through the AFROTC program while attending West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, which included minors in Leadership Studies and Aerospace Studies. Before his current assignment, Major Henderson served as a TH-1H “Huey II” Evaluator Pilot, Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, and Assistant Director of Operations at the 23rd Flying Training Squadron, Fort Rucker, Alabama. There, he established and managed evaluations for 73 permanent party aircrew. Additionally, he served as an HH-60G Pavehawk Flight Lead and Chief of Scheduling at the 66th Rescue Squadron, Nellis AFB, Nevada. He flew and coordinated three civil search and rescue missions, earning
recognition as the squadron’s pilot of the year.

Maj Henderson deployed in 2020 in support of Operation SPARTAN SHIELD, where he served as lead mission copilot, ensuring combat search and rescue coverage in support of 3,100 coalition sorties. In 2021, he deployed as mission aircraft commander in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. He flew 39 combat missions, enabling 2,400 sorties and 13 task force operations. He established armed escort capabilities, providing overwatch and casualty evacuation capabilities for 64 joint personnel, delivering 94 tons of supplies for coalition and partner nation forces
