As an Air Force law professional, you’ll provide a full range of legal services to service members.

As an Air Force Chaplain, you’ll be trained to provide spiritual care to the Air Force community.

Basic requirements to be an active duty chaplain:

• A 72-hour graduate theology degree meeting DoDI 1304.28 Para 3.d. requirements
• Endorsement by an Armed Forces Chaplains Board (AFCB) recognized endorser
• Two years of professional ministry leadership experience

If you’re a cadet interested in a future career as a chaplain, you can transition to the Chaplain Candidate Program upon graduation.

• You remain a candidate while earning your qualifying graduate degree, serving as a second lieutenant until both seminary graduation and ecclesiastical endorsement requirements have been met.
• You’ll then be reappointed as a reserve chaplain until you’ve completed the required two years of professional ministry leadership experience – you can then request transfer to active duty.

Chaplain candidate positions are limited (about 15 spots available annually AFROTC-wide), and applicants must be approved for participation by the AFRC Command Chaplain.

The Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is the Air Force’s federal law enforcement and counter-intellignece agency. You can learn more and apply within the AFROTC program; however, this is also a highly selective and highly competitive program.
