Love Our City is a nationwide movement that began in Tampa, Florida, uniting businesses, nonprofits, residents, and faith-based organizations with a shared mission: to serve their communities through meaningful action. Through thousands of service projects, the initiative addresses tangible needs while fostering a spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and hope. From large-scale outreach efforts to monthly service opportunities and grocery drive-through events, Love Our City continues to uplift individuals and families, especially those facing difficult circumstances, by offering practical support and genuine encouragement.
As part of this mission, Liberty University alumni took part in Love Our City’s annual Serve Week, making a direct impact on local families. Their project featured a free “Amazon-style” store, where families could shop for essential items at no cost, helping to ease financial burdens in a dignified and empowering way.

In addition to providing goods, the volunteers also distributed hot meals and offered words of encouragement, creating a welcoming and uplifting environment for everyone they served. Through efforts like these, the partnership between Love Our City and dedicated volunteers continues to strengthen communities and inspire lasting change.
For those inspired to get involved, joining a local alumni chapter is a great place to start. An alumni chapter is an organized community of graduates, donors, current students, their families, and supporters who connect regularly based on shared location, region, or common interests. These chapters provide opportunities to build relationships, stay engaged, and participate in service initiatives like Love Our City, making it easy to turn connection into meaningful community impact.
