Jessica Clarkson, a two-time graduate of Liberty University (B.S. in Communication, 2009; MBA, 2011), has built a career centered on strategic growth, relationship development, and community impact.
She currently serves as Senior Relationship Manager for the Financial Success at Work team at Virginia Credit Union. Jessica also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross and has previously supported several regional organizations, including the Academy Center of the Arts and Susan G. Komen of the Blue Ridge. She was recognized as “Millennial on the Move” by Lynchburg Business magazine.
One of her favorite Liberty memories was a 2008 School of Business trip to Europe, where she visited Rome, Florence, Monaco, Barcelona, Madrid, and the French Riviera. She also remembers the excitement on campus in 2009 when the Clemson Tigers men’s basketball came to play, with Seth Curry on the roster and classes were canceled so students could attend.
Jessica credits Liberty with teaching her to think strategically, connect vision with action, and lead with resilience and purpose. Her faith continues to guide how she defines success not just by achievement, but by impact.
Here are her words of advice to students. Build relationships intentionally, invest deeply in relationships while you’re at Liberty. The professors, mentors, and peers around you will shape your perspective in ways you won’t fully understand until years later. Success after graduation is rarely a solo journey. The ability to build trust and nurture meaningful connections will open more doors than you can imagine.
