Whether you're encountering a difficult situation, an immediate crisis, or have an ongoing mental health concern, we're available to help. Our staff includes a licensed professional counselor (LPC), Student Care Officers, and graduate student staff. All of our Care Officers hold a Master’s Degree or Higher in counseling or a counseling-related field.
Your information is confidential except in the case of a life-threatening emergency or when it is otherwise required by law. The Student Care Office operates in compliance with FERPA, and personal information is properly safeguarded and is used only for legitimate purposes and only when absolutely necessary.
Your first appointment with Student Care will be an Intake session, which includes an electronic assessment in addition to a brief face-to-face consultation with a Care Officer. Following the Intake, we offer up to six sessions with a Care Officer. Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes. In addition, Student Care offers referrals to outside mental health agencies.
You can schedule your intake appointment with Student Care by calling (434) 582-2651.
