Are there any exemptions to the $170 Student Health Fee?
- The Student Health Fee is required for all students enrolled in a residential program.
- An appeal will be considered if the student is involved in an internship, student teaching, study abroad, or independent study program outside the Lynchburg area.
- An appeal will not be considered if the student is taking at least one residential course that meets on campus.
- All appeals must be submitted after Financial Check-In is completed and before the last day of the current semester.
How do I appeal the $170 Student Health Fee?
- To appeal the $170 Student Health Fee, you may submit a Student Health Appeal Form.
When did the Student Health Center implement the student health fee?
- The Student Health Center implemented the health fee in the Fall semester of 2016.
What services does the Student Health Fee include?
- Physician, nurse practitioner, and physician’s assistant office visits
- Acute care visits
- In-office lab tests and diagnostics (including blood draws, EKGs, and basic X-rays)
- Annual physicals
- Chronic disease management for asthma, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, and other long-term conditions
- Coordination of care with specialists
- Preventive care visits
- Nutritional and health coaching
Does the Student Health Center offer insurance?
- No, the Student Health Center does not offer insurance. The Student Health Fee is a result of the benefit for health care services and not an insurance program. For more information, please visit the Student Health Center’s Insurance Questions web page
Do I need to complete my Financial Check-In before I request a student health fee exemption?
- You must complete Financial Check-In (FCI) and pay the student health fee in order to appeal. When your FCI is complete, you may request an exemption.
What forms of immunization records will be accepted?
- The preferred method is for you to fill out the Liberty-provided health form with the doctor’s signature and the dates of your vaccinations located in your ASIST account. However, there are other acceptable methods:
- Official Department of Health issued document
- Document with the doctor’s signature, emblem, stamp, or seal is present
- Please note: Submitted documentation must have the doctor’s signature, emblem, stamp, seal, or address present
How do I avoid the $50 late fine?
- Students can avoid the $50 late fee by completing the Immunizations, Tuberculosis Screening, and Medical History sections of the Student Health Form before the end of the first week of class (add/drop week). Please see Student Health Records.
Where can I drop off my immunization records?
- You may drop off your immunization records at the Student Health Records office which is located in Commons 3, A wing.
How do I schedule an appointment with the Student Health Center?
- Students may call to schedule appointments or visit the office to book in person if same-day availability allows. They can also schedule any appointments up to 48 hours in advance.
How many times can you go to the Student Health Center?
- You can visit the Student Health Center an unlimited amount of times.
What should you bring when you visit the Student Health Center?
- Please bring your Flames Pass, a valid driver’s license, and an updated insurance card.
