What’s Happening on June 2nd?

May 29, 2017

Coming off of a weekend with Pirates, new music from Lana Del Rey and another season of Bloodline, we know you were left wanting more – and you’re in luck! This upcoming weekend, June 2, has another array of musical releases, some of which we’re pretty excited to listen through. Whether you’re going on family vacation or simply listening to music on your work break, some of the releases below may “tickle your fancy” (we should abolish that phrase, right?).

May 26 notable album releases:

  • Last Young Renegade, All Time Low
  • Relaxer, Alt-J
  • Somersault, Beach Fossils
  • Gone Now, Bleachers
  • Cover My Tracks, Charlie Fink (of Noah and the Whale)
  • Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Halsey
  • Truth Is a Beautiful Thing, London Grammar

We’ve heard a couple singles off of Relaxer that have made us believe that the album is going to surprise us with a fresh sound, in true Alt-J fashion. All Time Low’s new album, on the other hand, is one we’re expecting to sound sort of like all albums from the band – punk with a pinch of rebellion. Halsey’s first album release since 2015 is one that could go either way; will it follow in the footsteps of BADLANDS or will it have a more comprehensive feel? We’ll find out this Friday!

May 26 notable tv/movie releases:

For all of you Captain Underpants fans, this Friday is a big day for you! With Kevin Hart and Ed Helms at the “helm” of this premiere, there’s a slim chance that you won’t enjoy yourself. Hopefully Gal Gadot can make the character of Wonder Woman be convincing enough in this debut. And for you history buffs, the combination of Churchill and Past Life should be enough to satiate those historical tastebuds of yours!
