Motor Vehicle Theft

*Note-this includes anything with a motor (i.e. motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, etc.)

This alert is being sent in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act, as this incident represents a Clery Act crime that occurred on Clery Act geography and poses a serious or continuing threat to the campus community.

Liberty University recently became aware of multiple motor vehicle thefts from the East Campus Drive parking lot. The suspects entered vehicles that were left unlocked or had valuables out in the open. It is recommended that all cars, scooters, bicycles, etc., be secured when left unattended on campus, and all valuables be put away or taken into your dorm rooms. This is an ongoing investigation. If you or someone you know has experienced similar situations, please reach out to LUPD immediately.

If you are in immediate danger, call Liberty University Police Department at 434-592-3911 or call 911.

Be sure to lock up your vehicles, residential hall rooms, and offices when you leave. Remove any valuables from sight or take them with you when you leave. Never leave keys or means to access your vehicle within the vehicle.
