Clery Crime: Sexual Battery

Under the Clery Act, Liberty University issues Timely Warning messages regarding Clery Act crimes which pose a serious and continuing threat to the campus community.

On 3-28-2023, a female student was touched inappropriately on the backside while in the Reber Thomas Dining Hall. The incident occurred at approximately 12:50 pm. The subject was described as a white male, with blond hair approximately 6 feet tall and thin. The male was last seen wearing pink shorts, a black hat, and white hoodie when the incident occurred.

Liberty University strongly believes that no person is responsible for harm inflicted by another person.

Criminal incidents can be reported to LU CSAs who are designated, trained, and mandatory reporters under the Clery Act when victims chose not to report to law enforcement.

Reporting to law enforcement is encouraged by calling 9-1-1

If you can, get safely away from the area before calling 9-1-1. Ask for assistance from others around you if you are unable to get away or call 9-1-1.

Safely intervene and/or call for help if you witness disrespectful or inappropriate behavior, or a crime.
