The Champion Center

The 68,000-square-foot facility located next to the Hancock Welcome Center will serve multiple functions, all with the goal of presenting and preserving the original mission of Liberty University: Training Champions for Christ. As an extension of the welcome center, the Champion Center will regularly host prospective students and their families. Creative displays, videos, and interactive content will contextualize Liberty’s history and growth in light of its mission and share how Liberty has remained a distinctly Christian institution committed to the Great Commission.

Fire Station

The fire station will be built and owned by Liberty University and leased to the city of Lynchburg. The project is in the design phase and is currently being reviewed by the city and the fire department. The university broke ground in January 2025. The fire station will be located by the Odd Fellows roundabout, just past the indoor track and natatorium. It is estimated to reduce response times to campus by 40 percent.
