On the Road Again: Liberty takes its ‘Convo on the Road’ event to Orlando, Hampton

For the second year, Liberty University’s Office of Spiritual Development will host two Convo on the Road events this summer, giving LU friends and family the opportunity to experience a worship service similar to the Convocations held twice a week during the school year.
This year’s events, held June 10 at First Baptist Orlando and June 17 at Liberty Live Church in Hampton Roads, Va., will include a time of worship led by the Liberty Worship Collective as well as messages from President Dondi E. Costin and Chancellor Jonathan Falwell.
“We are excited to once again take the incredible experience of an LU Convocation on the Road,” Falwell said. “As last year, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones in both Orlando and the Hampton Roads area. LU is a special place, and we love it when others can experience part of what all God is doing on this campus.”
Last summer, Liberty held Convo on the Road events at First Baptist Dallas Worship Center and The Summit Church in Raleigh, N.C.
The events are free and open to all members of the Liberty community — alumni, current and prospective students and their families, remote faculty and staff, friends and supporters. Representatives from various university departments will be available to meet with guests and answer questions.
Registration is required for each evening, with close to 2,000 anticipated attendees expected at each event. The first 500 people to arrive at both events will receive free “Kingdom Mindset” hats, and one lucky guest will go home with a new Apple iPad Air.
Dr. Greg Tilley, Liberty’s executive director of alumni engagement, said he is looking forward to meeting with alumni and helping them learn more about opportunities to connect with their alma mater and fellow alumni.
“The goal is to bring the excitement and worship that people on campus experience here each week to the Orlando and Hampton Roads area — alums, online students, residential students at home on break, adjunct professors, local church and school groups of future Liberty students and family members — to experience a taste of LU.”
