Liberty University has announced Dr. Shawn Bielicki as its new dean of the School of Education. He has served as interim dean since April.
Bielicki previously served as associate dean of the College of Applied Studies and Academic Success, Director of Teaching Excellence, Associate Director for the Center for Teaching Excellence, and professor. Before his time at Liberty, Bielicki spent nearly 15 years in K-12 settings as a middle and high school teacher, assistant principal, and curriculum coordinator.
“Dr. Bielicki’s vision for the School of Education aligns seamlessly with Liberty’s mission to develop Christ-centered educators and leaders,” said Liberty Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Scott Hicks. “His extensive experience — both in the K-12 classroom and in educational leadership — positions him well to guide the School of Education into a new season of innovation, excellence, and spiritual formation.”
At Liberty, Bielicki has led university-wide initiatives in faculty development and recognition, assessment, and emerging technologies. He has led many academic workshops, bootcamps, seminars, webinars, and podcasts and has served as chair and keynote for conferences, institutes, and consortiums.
Bielicki is an associate editor for the “International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education” and executive editor for the “Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning.” He has authored numerous articles and served on boards such as the Southern Regional Faculty Development & Instructional Design Consortium.
“I am humbled and honored to be named Dean,” Bielicki said. “It is a privilege of a lifetime to work alongside our talented and dedicated faculty, staff, and administration to guide our students toward their God-given calling to teach and impact the world for Christ.”
