Liberty University offers Logos digital platform free to students, faculty

Liberty University has announced a partnership with Logos that will provide all faculty and students free subscriptions to the platform’s vast digital library of theological resources. The partnership will also include the forthcoming LU Signature, a tailored edition of Logos offered at a reduced rate to the greater Liberty family, including alumni, donors, and others.

As industry leaders in Bible study, Logos empowers believers to explore Scripture in depth inside a single platform. Powerful Bible study tools with curated resources reinforce Liberty’s distinctive biblical worldview. Students can ask questions via the AI-powered search tool and find answers in the Bible, study in multiple translations (or the original languages), and discover scholarly insights in interlinked commentaries, lexicons, journals, and more.

Liberty will leverage the tool to enhance biblical worldview in curriculum and support many departments, including the Office of Spiritual Development and the new Global Center for Human Flourishing.

Chancellor Jonathan Falwell introduced the new offering during the first Convocation of the academic year on Aug. 20 and recognized Logos president and CEO Bill McCarthy who was in attendance. Logos staff were available to talk with students after Convocation.

“We firmly believe in God’s Word, so much so that our team here, under (Liberty President) Dr. Costin’s leadership, has provided an opportunity for every student gathered in this room,” Falwell said. “We are going to give you a free copy of the Logos Bible study platform where you will be able to read and study God’s Word through the commentaries available in this incredible resource.”

“We’re delighted to serve the students, faculty, and staff of Liberty University as they Train Champions for Christ,” McCarthy said. “We believe this partnership will have a lasting impact of deepening Bible engagement, promoting human flourishing and helping Liberty University shape leaders who carry their faith with conviction and clarity to every aspect of life.”

Falwell said the Office of Spiritual Development has already created three Bible reading plans through Logos. These plans, now available directly within the app, allow students to not only read Scripture but also engage with it in deeper, more meaningful ways — tracking progress, taking notes, and making connections across commentaries and study resources. By embedding these plans in Logos, Liberty is equipping its community with a shared journey through God’s Word, fostering both personal devotion and collective spiritual growth.

“It’s going to be an incredible opportunity for us, all together, to walk through God’s Word, to see who God is, to see what God will do, but (also) to see what God has already told us in His Word of Who He is and the power that is found within Him.”

The announcement comes as Liberty renews a commitment to help students build their lives on the Word of God this school year; students have been taking turns reading through the entire Bible out loud in front of the John W. Rawlings School of Divinity over the past week.
