Thousands of Liberty students, faculty, and staff welcomed in the Christmas holiday season on the Academic Lawn, Monday, Nov. 15, for Student Activities’ annual Christmas in Lights event. Attendees witnessed the lighting of the giant Christmas tree stationed in the middle of the lawn between the Montview Student Union and the Jerry Falwell Library.
Student Activities served hot chocolate and cookies, and the band Scout and the Saints performed a ballad of Christmas Rock music. This year’s event was the first live Christmas in Lights since the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced last year’s event to be live streamed only.
First introduced to Liberty’s campus in 2010, Christmas in Lights has been one of Student Activities’ longstanding traditions that offers a way for members of the Liberty community to celebrate Christmas together before final exams and winter break begin.
