The 2017 film “Is Genesis History?,” which explores a number of scientific topics in the context of the Bible, was the fifth-highest grossing documentary of the year, thanks to a successful nationwide theatrical release. Dr. Marcus Ross, a professor of geology and director of Liberty’s Center for Creation Studies, is one of 13 scientists and scholars in the film who share their expertise to make a positive argument for the biblical creation account and Noah’s flood.
The film is returning to theaters across the country on Thursday, Feb. 22, for a one-year anniversary screening. It will be shown in 850 theaters nationwide (more than last year), including in Lynchburg’s Regal River Ridge Stadium 14 at 7 p.m.
From rock layers to fossils and from lions to stars, the film challenges the way viewers see the world. Ross discusses the fossil record during his segment, filmed at Discovery Park of America in Tennessee.
Liberty’s Center for Creation Studies is an interdisciplinary education and research institute committed to the study of the origin of the universe, the Earth, life, and the diversification of species. This study draws upon knowledge from religion, science, philosophy, and history. Learn more about the center and its purpose at Liberty.edu/Academics/Arts-Sciences/Creation.
