Virginia’s Secretary of Transportation, Aubrey Layne, visited Liberty University’s campus on May 15 for a meeting with transportation officials and business leaders. The event was hosted by Liberty and the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce at the Hancock Welcome Center.
Leaders of the Lynchburg Region Transportation Advocacy Group (LRTAG) discussed many road congestion and safety issues throughout the region and highlighted some areas surrounding campus.
Dr. Barry Moore, Liberty’s vice president of outreach & strategic partnerships and an LRTAG member, gave a presentation on Liberty’s road system. He said hosting a member of the governor’s cabinet was an honor.
“It was a privilege to bring him to the most dynamic university in Virginia so that he could witness firsthand our growth, where we are now, and where we are going.”
