Liberty Field Hockey defeats Stanford to claim NorPac title

UPDATE 11/11/2013: The Liberty University field hockey team, making its first appearance in the NCAA Field Hockey Championship, will travel to Newark, Del., to face No. 17 University of Delaware on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in the play-in round. The winner of Wednesday’s contest will face No. 3 national seed the University of North Carolina on Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Liberty University field hockey team upset No. 10 Stanford, 2-1, claiming the NorPac Championship title and a berth in the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament. Natalie Barr scored both goals for the Lady Flames, including the game-winner with 3:49 left in the game.
The Lady Flames win their 12th game in a row and improve to 17-4 this season. Liberty will be appearing in one of three play-in games on Wednesday. The tournament field will be announced Sunday at 10 p.m.
