From Monday, July 29, through Saturday, Aug. 3, rising high school juniors and seniors and prospective transfer students who are Virginia residents are invited to visit the university. Application fees for participants will be waived during this time.

“We are excited to welcome families to our beautiful and growing campus again this year,” said Ed Parker, assistant director of Recruitment, Visitors Center.

This is Liberty’s fifth year to participate.

Tours will be conducted Monday through Thursday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., on Friday at 8:45 a.m. (as part of Liberty’s regularly scheduled Friendly Friday event) and 2 p.m., and on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Visitors will learn about Liberty’s rich history, student life, and the university’s numerous academic offerings. A brief admissions session highlighting scholarship opportunities will also be offered.

Gov. Bob McDonnell officially recognized the week. In his proclamation, he said more than 100,000 students attend private colleges in Virginia, which are “not only vehicles of tradition, but centers of learning that reflect the ever-evolving diversity and needs of American life.”

Liberty now offers 315 unique programs of study, with tuition remaining among the lowest of Virginia’s private colleges and universities.

Registration is not required for the week, but those interested are asked to call (434) 582-2064 or email visitorscenter@liberty.edu for the program schedule.

Liberty University, founded in 1971, is the largest private, nonprofit university in the nation, the largest university in Virginia, and the largest Christian university in the world.
