Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr.’s College Forum editorial titled “Don’t Play Dead” was published in this month’s issue of “Charisma” magazine. He speaks of the actions conservatives should take as Barack Obama becomes our new president.
The editorial leads with:
“The student body at Liberty University applauded after the presidential election last November when I admonished them to pray for Barack Obama. Even though the vast majority has supported John McCain, they understand that as Christians, we have a responsibility to pray for the president-elect and not only to support him when he makes good decisions but also to lawfully oppose him when he promotes anti-Christian policies. I am proud that the students embrace this concept. But other Christians seem to be waving a flag of surrender.”
The editorial will be printed in its entirety in the February/March “Liberty Journal.”
Steve Strang, publisher of “Charisma” magazine, a leading Christian magazine, visited Liberty last April. An award-winning journalist, he founded Charisma in 1975. Liberty University, Thomas Road Baptist Church and the late Dr. Jerry Falwell have had a presence in “Charisma” several times.
