What Is the Fulbright Scholarship Program?
Fulbright is the most widely recognized and prestigious international exchange program. It has been supported for more than half a century by the American people through an annual appropriation from the U.S. Congress and by the people of partner nations.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides opportunities for international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide.
Since its creation in 1946, the Fulbright program has fostered bilateral relationships and partnerships in which citizens and governments of over 140 countries work with the U.S. to set joint partnerships and shape the program to meet shared needs.
