Former Flame Joins Prestigious Golf Tour
Kieran Vincent’s career as a Liberty Flame was nothing short of spectacular.
In the last two seasons alone, he has led Liberty’s top 10 finishes and scoring averages in golf, even setting a new program record for the Flames with a scoring average of 70.48 in the 2020-2021 season. Although his time as a Liberty Flame came to an end following the conclusion of the 2022 season, his career is just beginning.
Currently playing on one of the biggest stages in his golf career, Vincent began his professional journey on the Canada PGA Tour this past summer. However, he looks back fondly on his time as a Liberty Flame.
“I think the biggest thing I learned was competing for a greater good,” Vincent said. “God was obviously the person that we look to strive to compete for, and it helps in times where we lose and times where we win.”
Vincent’s time as a Flame taught him far more than how to be a better golfer. It’s taught him how to be a better person.
“My time in college has really taught me perseverance, among other things,” Vincent said. “This journey has taught me a lot more than how to be a good golfer because, at the end of the day, that’s not what I want to be known for. It’s great I get to play this sport and use this vessel to do so many big things, but I want to do it correctly. So, I think the person I try to be off the course really reflects who I am on the course.”
Life on the PGA Tour in Canada has been inspiring for Vincent, showing him many things not only about golf, but life itself.
“It’s kind of teaching you how to be independent,” Vincent said. “There are so many little things you have to be worried about, where in college golf, all those little things were figured out for you and you were just told where to be, and that was really it.”
In the 2022 PGA Tour Canada thus far, Vincent has competed in nine different tournaments. He has placed in the top 25 three separate times and even added a top-10 finish to his exciting professional career. Vincent is also ranked in the top 25 in scoring average, and in birdie average, he is ranked 23rd.
Going forward into his professional endeavors, Vincent’s goals remain the same, and that is to win. Giving his absolute best effort in every moment on and off that course is something he strives toward.
“I just want to compete,” Vincent said. “Whether that’s on relative tours or majors, I just want to compete to the best of my ability. The only way I can achieve what I want to achieve is by doing the little things right. Taking those steps one day at a time and completing each task that comes before me is what’s going to help me accomplish some of those bigger goals in the future.”
Vincent hopes to accomplish big things in his career, starting with playing on one of the biggest stages in golf, the PGA Tour.
