New Nonprofit, Never Surrender USA, Created After LU Murph Challenge Success

Never Surrender USA (NSUSA) Executive Director Nick Salonites and Chief Operator Jacob Bull created the non-profit after the success of their LU Murph Challenge.

The purpose of the organization is to restore physical fitness excellence to the youth of America by empowering young people to conduct impact fitness events that uplift U.S. military veterans and U.S. armed forces.

“Our goal is to be diligent in our work and keep the Lord at the forefront of what we are doing. I know the Lord will bless it,” Salonites said.

The non-profit team starts each of their meetings with a devotional in efforts to keep Christ at the center of all they do. In order to serve the community, the Murph team often passes out Bibles to share the Gospel.

Along with sharing the Gospel, the group is focused on promoting the coupling of physical wellness with spiritual wellness.

A new event that NSUSA will hold July 12 is “Project 100.” A group will be running from San Diego to Los Angeles, California, dedicating every 10 miles to a gold star family — a family whose loved one passed away while serving the military — by praying for them and sending videos of them running.

According to the LU Murph Challenge homepage, the Murph Challenge has raised $85,000 for veterans, which was accomplished through the work of many volunteers and people on the team.

“This was a struggle for us to build. It’s been fun every single step of the way,” Bull said.

Salonites and Bull pivoted from their original career plans because of this passion that transformed into an open door from the Lord. NSUSA unites all of the things that both of them prioritize, including faith, fitness, health and the promotion of American exceptionalism.

Salonties encourages others with strong passions to do the same.

“If they have something on their heart that they know the Lord is nudging them to do it, go do it,” Salonties said.

Other universities reached out to NSUSA because they were interested in hosting their own Murph Challenge. Texas A&M University and the University of North Carolina Wilmington will be holding their own events on April 5 and April 12 respectively.

  • I saw your interview on the Leventhal Report and immediately thought of a Veterans organization called “Veterans Helping Veterans”. We have a local chapter in Spartanburg, SC. I don’t know if you’re familiar with them or have any contact with them. If not, you may want to reach out to them. One of their main objectives is suicide prevention. Thank you for helping our Veterans. Bob
