LUPD Honored At Convocation

Liberty University took a moment during Convocation on Feb. 4 to honor the campus police officers and security officers of the Liberty University Police  Department.

President Jerry Prevo discussed Liberty’s need for LUPD and the crucial role they have in keeping campus safe.

“They faithfully respond to situations here on our campus that may be a threat and maybe is a threat,” Prevo said. “I don’t ever want you to take them for granted. When you see them, as they are working here on campus, I encourage you to go up to them and thank them for their service here at Liberty University as they protect you, protect all of us and are available to help us when we need them here at Liberty University,” Prevo said.

This honoring was made after the Feb. 1 shooting at Bridgewater College killing two campus first responders.
