Mandatory Vendor Portal Registration - Launching July 1, 2025
ProcurementAs previously announced in the past procurement newsletters, Procurement & Payment Services is streamlining the vendor registration process with the launch of a new requirement to utilize the BuyLU Supplier Portal. Starting July 1, 2025, all vendors will be required to register through the portal to conduct business with Liberty University. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some vendors were made aware of this change through an event held at the Lynchburg Business Alliance on May 28th. It will also be announced at Liberty’s annual Vendor Expo on July 23rd.
Benefits to LU
- Streamlined Documentation: No need to submit a W-9 or Certificate of Insurance (COI) separately—these will be collected during the online supplier registration process.
- Faster Supplier Request Processing: Requests are handled more efficiently, reducing time needed to draft and submit
- Optional Digital Vendor Link: Share a digital registration link with vendors directly—no supplier request required.
- Enhanced Supplier Management: Access to supplier scorecards and surveys for better performance tracking and feedback.
Benefits to Vendors
- Improved Payment Terms: Registered vendors using the portal will benefit from ACH30 payment terms.
- Secure Self-Management of Information: Vendors can manage and update their own sensitive information, enhancing data security and reducing liability for the university.
- Access to Digital Invoicing and Sourcing Opportunities: Suppliers will gain access to digital invoicing and open-sourcing events, which can lead to faster processing and increased competitive opportunities.
