Terry Hall’s journey is one marked by dedication, service, and a deep commitment to helping others. After serving his country in the United States Air Force including deployments during Operation Urgent Fury and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm Terry continued his life of service with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. Over 25 years, he poured into his community as a Patrol Deputy, D.A.R.E. Officer, School Resource Officer, Major Crimes Detective, Courthouse Deputy, and Victim Assistance Officer.

While building his career, Terry pursued his education at Liberty University, earning his A.A. and B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2014 and his M.Ed. in Teaching & Learning in 2016. He often reflects on the support he received from faculty and classmates, crediting Liberty for strengthening his time-management skills and encouraging him through every obstacle. One of his proudest memories was earning a B in his final math class a milestone that helped him graduate with honors and helped him get inducted into The Criminal Justice Honor Society, ALPHA PIA SIGMA.

In 2025, Terry reached a new chapter in his career when he became the Instructor for the School Resource Officer training program at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He sees this role as a chance to help shape the next generation of SROs, building strong partnerships between law enforcement and schools. He believes his Liberty education played a key role in preparing him for this opportunity.

Through all of life’s seasons, Terry’s faith has remained his foundation. He shares that God has been present in the good moments and especially in the difficult ones, guiding him and giving him strength. His advice to current students and future graduates is simple but powerful: “You can achieve anything you set your mind to, and with God’s blessings, you can overcome every challenge life puts before you.”
