Melissa Mann currently serves as the Dean of Career & Technical Education at Danville Community College, where she leads with a focus on innovation, strategic planning, and student success. Since graduating from Liberty University in 2012, she has served in roles ranging from teacher and professor to administrator and dean. She is also pursuing a PhD in Education at Old Dominion University. 

Throughout her career, Melissa has earned certifications in Trauma & Resilience Training, Emotional Intelligence, and Strengths Finders, and has facilitated training in each. Her leadership is marked by a passion for community impact and collaboration, serving on numerous boards and councils including the Virginia & North Carolina ACE Women’s Network and the Carolina Cyber Network. 

Melissa credits Liberty for helping her discover her purpose in education and for shaping her leadership through a Christian worldview. She fondly remembers attending Convocation, particularly hearing actor Kirk Cameron speak on faith, forgiveness, and God’s grace an experience that deeply influenced her approach to leadership. 

Advice to current students: 
“Never stop learning! Learning is the foundational key that connects you to the world God’s world. He is in everything we do and everything we are. To be close to Him, we must act in His image. His world was made of His vision just as we are. Go! Explore! Learn! Be one with Him.” 

Melissa Mann’s story is a testament to the power of faith, education, and purpose-driven leadership.
