From the heart of Manhattan, Kansas, Catherine McKinley has built a career that blends professional excellence with spiritual purpose. A 2012 graduate of Liberty University, Catherine majored in Business Finance and Business Management, laying the foundation for a journey that would soon earn her national recognition in the financial world.
Catherine began her Liberty journey in 2009, drawn by the university’s Christian mission and the idea that every career can be a mission field. “The concept of being a missionary in whatever career field you choose really resonated with me,” she shared. That mindset shaped her time on campus, where she served as a prayer leader, sang in the Thomas Road Baptist Church Choir, played violin in Liberty’s orchestra, and even found time for intramural volleyball and local volunteer work.
Before graduation, Catherine secured an internship in Kansas that quickly turned into a full-time job offer. She completed her double major through Liberty University Online while working full-time—an early testament to her drive and discipline.
Today, Catherine serves as a Financial Advisor, specializing in Retirement Planning. Her passion lies in working one-on-one with clients, helping them navigate their financial futures while being a light for Christ in the industry. Her impact hasn’t gone unnoticed: Forbes has named her one of the Top Women and Next-Gen Wealth Advisors in Kansas for four consecutive years, beginning in 2022.
Catherine is also a proud wife and adoptive mother. Her family visited Liberty’s campus during last year’s Homecoming and was amazed by the growth and transformation. She mentioned this was her first time back on campus since 2010.
When asked about her favorite Liberty memory, Catherine didn’t hesitate: Convocation. “Worshipping alongside thousands of other students each week was an experience like no other. It’s something that has stayed with me even now.”

Her advice to current students and recent graduates? “Leverage the connections at Liberty and invest in strong relationships with like-minded individuals.” Catherine credits the people she met at LU with helping shape her career and life.
Catherine McKinley’s story is a powerful reminder that success is not just about what you achieve—but how you live out your calling along the way.
Catherine is a proud member of the Champion Club and has been recognized as the “November 2025 Member of the Month”.
