Biography
Jonny currently serves as the Director of Flight Training for the School of Aeronautics. A native of Northern Ireland, he experienced his first real exposure to aviation as a Cadet with the Royal Air Force Air Training Corp. He moved to the U.S. to attend Liberty and subsequently completed all of his flight training at the university. Upon completing his flight instructor training, it became apparent that he not only had a passion for aviation, but also for teaching others and witnessing their “Aha!” moments both on the ground and in the cockpit. This started an rather unexpected, but exciting journey into the world of collegiate aviation. He thoroughly enjoys helping others to achieve their aviation goals, and he has held a variety of roles within the organization including International Student Liaison, Assistant Chief Instructor, and Associate Director of Flight Training. His aviation experience is primarily within the realm of General Aviation (GA), and he seeks to use this GA focus to assist in the training of future missionary pilots.
