What is Air Force ROTC?

Developing Air and Space Force leaders of character whom we expect to fight and win our nation’s wars

Air Force ROTC is a premier leadership development program designed to prepare students for service as officers in the United States Air and Space Forces. Through rigorous training, academic coursework, and hands-on leadership experiences, cadets are able to develop the skills, discipline, and professionalism needed to lead in the world’s greatest Air Force and Space Force.

At Detachment 890, our cadre consists of active-duty Air Force officers and non-commissioned officers who are competitively selected to mentor and train the next generation of leaders. Coming from diverse backgrounds—including pilots, medical professionals, special operations, intelligence, cyber, contracting, power production, logistics readiness, administration, and engineering—our cadre members bring real-world expertise to shape a cadet’s understanding of military service before they even enter active duty. Meet the Detachment Leadership at Liberty University.
