Become a Licensed Middle School Teacher with Liberty’s B.Ed. in Middle Education – Social Sciences

Does the idea of being a positive role model and helping middle school students reach their full potential excite you? Liberty University’s Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Middle Education – Social Sciences can prepare you to become a licensed middle school teacher in the state of Virginia.*

This program will help you gain the knowledge and practical skills you’ll need to teach economics, American history, world history, and other social issues topics to 6th-8th grade students. You’ll also learn how to address diverse learning styles and create an engaging learning environment.

In this program, you can sharpen your skills by completing 90 practicum hours and at least 1 full semester of student teaching within a real classroom setting. You’ll also study under faculty who have years of experience and are dedicated to helping you as you pursue licensure.

The time children spend in middle school is critical — it shapes the rest of their education and can influence their future careers. Become a positive influence and learn to guide your students both academically and spiritually.

*If you are planning to pursue licensure in another state, please review the reciprocity of Virginia teaching licensure with your state’s Department of Education requirements. You can research your state’s licensure requirements here: https://www.liberty.edu/statelicensure/
