Internships and Facilities Available to Global and Intercultural Engagement Nursing Students
- All of our bachelor’s degrees in nursing are accredited by CCNE, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and approved by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Our BSN program offers 800 clinical hours, whereas Virginia requires 500 hours minimum. We believe the more you are exposed to patient care situations, the better!
- Our sophomores are able to start their clinical experience, whereas most universities make students wait until junior year.
- Our 14,000-square-foot School of Nursing Simulation Center is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).
- We offer both distant clinical sites in Richmond and Roanoke hospitals and international clinical mission trips to countries like Rwanda, Kenya, Guatemala, and Haiti.
- We offer an accelerated degree program, where students who have enough credits can complete their entire sophomore year of nursing in one summer semester.
Admission Requirements for Our Undergraduate Degree Programs
Every application is reviewed by the admission committee on a case-by-case basis, meaning there are no set minimums for acceptance. However, all applicants must submit the following documents* for admission:
- Admission application
- Official high school transcripts
- Official college transcripts (if applicable)
- Results from the CLT, SAT, or ACT are not required for admission, but may be used in consideration for merit-based aid.
- Admission essay
*Note that additional documentation may be requested by the admission committee after your application has been received.
