The emphasis in our program is on finding the frequency, pattern, cause, and risk factors associated with a particular outbreak or event.

  • The knowledge base necessary to understand the mechanisms of infectious disease transmission, select specific preventive methodologies in the control of particular diseases, and communicate the rationale for the various control methods
  • Current research and governmental initiatives regarding food safety and best practices for food handling in foodservice systems
  • The methods used in conducting epidemiologic field investigations, including the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of primary source epidemiologic data

Admission Requirements for Graduate Public Health Degrees

Every application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and all applicants must submit the following documents and meet the minimum requirements for admission:

  • Admission application
  • Unofficial college transcripts with a completed Transcript Request Form
  • Self-certification form (for students who are in the final term of their bachelor’s degree)
  • Current Liberty undergraduate students seeking preliminary acceptance into a graduate program must complete a degree completion application through their ASIST account
  • A regionally or nationally accredited bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.5 GPA for admission in good standing
