Concerned Women for America concluded its “She Prays, She Votes” bus tour at Liberty University, Oct. 30 in front of the Freedom Tower.

The event began at 11:30 a.m. Students heard from national speakers, enjoyed free Chick-fil-A sandwiches and participated in worship led by singer and songwriter Danny Gokey.

Students were encouraged to vote in the upcoming 2026 midterm election and stay informed about the issues on the ballot.

National Director of Young Women for America Faith Ozenbaugh shared the purpose and mission of the tour.

“We’ve taken this big pink bus across the country, and hosting events in different communities, really encouraging Christian voters to get out to the polls,” Ozenbaugh said.

Ozenbaugh explained the impact of aligning one’s vote with biblical values.

“It’s important that Christians recognize how our values connect to various policies that are coming down in our states and in our nation,” Ozenbaugh said. “It’s important that everyone gets out and voices truth through their vote.”

The event hosted various speakers such as President and CEO of Concerned Women for America Penny Nance, Virginia Delegate Tim Griffin (R-53rd District) and President of the YWA chapter at Liberty senior Ruthie Gathje. The speakers challenged Virginians to stand up for their Christian values and live out their civic duty.

Gathje encouraged Christians to look back on biblical principles when voting and emboldened young women to get involved in the political process.

“We have an opportunity to shape our culture, influence public policy and stand firm in the convictions God has given us,” Gathje said.

Vice President of the YWA chapter at Liberty senior Stella Rose McGuire shared her view about the significance of voting.

“As Christians, it’s just so important that we vote our biblical values, for life and for marriage,” McGuire said. “Because our kids are going to grow up in this generation and we want the world to be a good place and to make it better for them.”
