Did I ever tell you about my trip to see the Carolina Panthers play on Christmas Eve?
It was a chilly winter break in 2022. I had just come home from school, and my brother told me that we were going to watch the Panthers play on Christmas Eve.
Now as a North Carolina native, there are three things that I must enjoy: “The Andy Griffith Show,” barbecue and watching Bryce Young’s desperate attempts at getting the ball to the end zone. Jokes aside, I was more than thrilled to go to the game. When the time came, we bundled ourselves in layers of winter clothes and made our way to Charlotte.
We entered Bank of America Stadium, which was all decked out for Christmas. After exploring the concourse for a while, we got food and sat down in our seats.
The game started, and I could already feel Jack Frost nipping at my nose. Despite wearing a couple of hoodies, a large jacket and five layers of pants, I was freezing. My biggest concern was my hands.
I only had a thin pair of gloves on. I tried putting them in my pockets, but they did not get warmer.
No matter what I did, it felt like they were turning into icicles. Thankfully, my brother brought plenty of hand warmers. I went through about 12 of them before the game ended.
What did I learn that day? I learned that almost having your fingers fall off is no joke. For health and wellness, it is important to make sure you wear enough layers when venturing out into freezing conditions.
That’s all for this adventure. I’ll see you in the next one!
