With the NFL Draft having happened a couple of days ago in Pittsburgh, it is only right that I talk about some of my favorite picks. Since I am not entirely sure what the Buffalo Bills were doing, we are not going to talk about them.
Moving on to my favorite draft pick of the night, Mr. LinkedIn himself.
Hoosier daddy
After winning the 2026 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship for Indiana University against Miami University, quarterback Fernando Mendoza continued to collect accolades to perfect his LinkedIn account.
Mendoza bypassed Jeremyiah Love, Diego Pavia and Julian Sayin to win the 2025 Heisman Memorial Trophy for being the top player in college football. Of course, in true Mendoza fashion, he updated his LinkedIn to mark the occasion.
Even more impressively, but not surprisingly, Mendoza was the No. 1 draft pick this year going to the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the QB room in Vegas having Mendoza and Kirk Cousins, you can only expect happiness, good vibes and quality entertainment every now and then.
Blessing the Saints
Former Arizona State University wide receiver Jordyn Tyson was drafted in the first round as the eighth overall pick, being selected by the New Orleans Saints.
I genuinely enjoyed watching him make his way to the stage as his walk-up song, “Deliver Me” by Donald Lawrence, played over the loudspeaker. Unapologetically playing a gospel song in a room full of people who tend to chase money and fame makes a bigger statement than some people realize.
-As he was walking through the tunnel to make his way to the stage, he took a knee in front of the Saints logo, taking in all his emotions. Having the strength to stand firm in his faith, especially at a state school, and to then be drafted to the Saints is just poetry coming to life.
Lomu has got the moves
The New England Patriots picked up a fun draft prospect with offensive tackle Caleb Lomu from The University of Utah.
He grabbed the attention of many people who tuned into the draft as he danced in his draft pick video. If he performs well in his rookie season, I can already tell that the vibes on the offense with Lomu and quarterback Drake Maye will be something that Pats fans will love to tune into.
With these rookies walking onto an NFL field for the first time this upcoming season, I believe that they are truly going to make a name for themselves in more ways than one.
