All Majors Career Fair On March 1st

Aviation majors, elementary education majors, commercial music majors and all other majors can connect with potential employers at the career fair.

Liberty University’s Career Services will be hosting an All Majors Career Fair on March 1 to help students and alumni find career and internship opportunities.

The All Majors Career Fair will be located in the LaHaye Multipurpose Center in Green Hall and will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  This event provides students with a range of information about organizations that are hiring.

While the Career Services department offers fairs throughout the semester, this career fair is unique because it offers information on jobs for all majors.

“Career fairs are exciting recruitment events that bring together students and employers,” Jonathan Tripp, the marketing and communications specialist for Career Services, said.

The All Majors Career Fair provides students with information on how to start a career in their desired major as well as gain contacts for businesses they may want to work for in the future. In addition, students will also be given the opportunity to build relationships with well-known and respected people.

“This career fair brings over 100 different employers to Liberty campus to meet, interview, and even hire Liberty students and alumni,” Tripp said.

Even if students are not currently looking for a job, the All Majors Career Fair is still beneficial because students get the opportunity to meet people working in their desired career and make great connections for the future.

However, for students who are looking for jobs, this event will be a great starting point. The career fair will help students learn more about positions and help them with the application process.

“Recruiters are often looking to fill specific roles with their company, and when Liberty students make a great first impression, this goes a long way to taking the next step in the application process,” Tripp said.  “Additionally, (they can) grow their own professional network by talking to the many industry representatives that travel to these events.”

Sophomore Rae Ward has decided to attend the career fair for the opportunities it presents.

“I want to attend this event because it presents many career opportunities and will give me the opportunity to talk to future employers,” Ward said. “It is sometimes hard to get in front of employers, and this helps to get noticed.”

Career Services offers students a vast number of resources to help them grow in future careers.  Students can contact Career Services to receive coaching services, internship program information, resume critiques, workshops and more.  These services are available to both alumni and students.

According to its website, “Career Services connects Liberty University students and alumni with career opportunities through impactful coaching, employer connections and valuable work experiences.  Career Services trains students and alumni to align personal goals, talents and experiences in support of achieving their vocational goals.”

Through the Career Services website, students and alumni can take advantage of these resources.  With the resume critique service, one can submit his or her resume  to the department to be reviewed.  They will then receive professional feedback on any changes or additions needed.

Through the employer relations link on the Career Services website, students can get more information on how to find strong contacts for future employment.  In order to better prepare for future employment opportunities, this department also offers mock interviews.  Most of the services are available both virtually and in person.
