Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-MSN) – Michigan
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Michigan students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Michigan State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Michigan is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration; therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Michigan, the student must hold an active, unencumbered Michigan RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator.
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
Applicants must request their educational institution send a copy of the official transcript, directly to the MI BON. Applicants may also need to verify clinical practicum or specialized experience. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office. To verify practicum hours of completion, please reach out to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations. Applicants must request the certifying body send documentation of certification directly to the MI BON.
iii. Requirements Beyond Education Program
a. All Licensure applicants are required to complete a one-time training to identify victims of human trafficking is required for individuals seeking licensure that meets the standards of Administrative Rule 338.10105.
b. All Licensure applicants are required to complete 2 hours of implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration is required.
