Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Wisconsin
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Wisconsin students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Wisconsin State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Wisconsin is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Wisconsin, the student must hold an active, Wisconsin or Multi-State RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
1. The Wyoming Board of Nursing requires evidence of a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing, or a related health field granted by a college or university
accredited by a regional accrediting organization approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Applicants must also provide evidence of completion of 45 contact hours in clinical pharmacology or therapeutics within 5 years preceding the application for an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber certificate.
2. Applicants applying for certification must complete the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Form #2367, and forward the form to the college or university at which you received your master’s or doctoral degree. This form must be completed by the educational institution and returned directly from the school to the Board of Nursing by mail, or email to DSPSCredNursing@wisconsin.gov. In addition, you may request an official transcript by reaching out to the Registrar’s office.
ii. Certification:
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
