Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN) – Illinois
Liberty University and the School of Nursing meet all requirements for enrollment of Illinois students in this program. All students are required to have a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License prior to enrollment.
Illinois State License Requirements:
a. RN License.
i. You must maintain a current, unencumbered RN license for any Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program.
ii. Illinois is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact Administration, therefore, to participate in practicum in the state of Illinois, the student must hold an active Illinois RN license.
iii. Any change in licensure status must be reported to the Liberty University School of Nursing Online Student Support Coordinator
b. APRN License Application Requirements
i. Education
The Illinois Board of Nursing requires documentation of graduation from a graduate level education program for the relevant specialization. Applicant must request their institution send a copy of the official transcript to the Illinois Board of Nursing. To request an official transcript, you may reach out to the Registrar’s office.
ii. Certification
This program meets requirements for eligibility to sit for national certification examinations.
